Elizardo Chavez Piñon, 86, a resident of Lordsburg, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX.

He was born February 23, 1931 in San Isabel Chihuahua, Mexico to Lauro and Emilia Piñon.

He is survived by one son, Victor Tovar (Delfina) of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Olivia Piñon (Roberto Martinez) of Denver, CO; Elvira Piñon of Chihuahua, Mexico; one cousin, Eliasar Magallanes of Lordsburg; two nephews, Tom Chavez (Beverly) of Lordsburg; Fred Chavez (Millie) of Safford, AZ; one niece, Mary Ryan (Tom) of Houston, TX; numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Cora Leyva Piñon; and one sister, Raquel Piñon.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23 from 9:30-10:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the holy rosary to begin at 10:30am with Alice Ramirez reciting. The funeral mass will follow at 11am with Father Jude Okonkwo officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Shakespeare cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Oscar and Eliazar Magallanes, Fred Chavez, Roberto Martinez, Lauro Martinez, and Victor Tovar.
