Tomorrow morning (Thursday), there will be a press conference in the lobby of the Grant County Conference Center. Advanced Air, the company that has been awarded the flight service from Tucson and Albuquerque to the Grant County Airport, will announce their plans for flights to Silver City/Grant County. The press conference begins at 10:00 a.m. The press and the public are invited to attend. This is a good time to meet some of the officials of Advanced Air and hear about the plans to smoothly convert from Boutique Air to Advanced Air’s service. The Grant County Conference Center is located at 3031 Highway 180 East in Silver City, New Mexico.

This Friday, November 9, the Chamber of Commerce will assist with a ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate the re-Grand Opening Farmers Insurance – Seawolf Agency. Ruth Seawolf and her staff have moved to a new office space at 2005 Highway 180 East – Suite 500 in Silver City. The new office is in the strip center that shares parking spaces with Wrangler Bar & Grill. When you pull into Wrangler’s, just go to the building at the end of the parking lot. The phone numbers, the website address, the email address… they have not changed. It’s just the physical address. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and the open house that begins at 10:00 a.m. this Friday.

The Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce welcomes two new members.

GRANT COUNTY ART GUILD

The Grant County Art Guild is a non-profit organization, 501(c)3. The organization’s common interests include fine arts and crafts, offering workshops, exhibits, classes and making contributions to schools and providing judges for art shows.

The Grant County Art Guild has been in existence for 50 years. During the summer months, their primary headquarters has been the historic Pinos Altos Hearst Church. However, it has become necessary for the organization to consider relocating to downtown Silver City as visibility and accessibility would be more conducive to the goals of the organization. The Grant County Art Guild appreciates your consideration and invites you to help them with financial assistance in this endeavor to relocate their headquarters to downtown Silver City in the old Hester House building on Bullard Street. At the same time, the Grant County Art Guild is inviting artisans to become members of their organization.

To learn more about membership opportunities or to inquire how you can assist with the relocation to downtown Silver City, please call Ruth Hamby at (575) 313-0844 or send an email to secretary@gcag.org. You can also visit the Grant County Art Guild website at here.
