For nearly 20 years, REALTOR® Magazine's Good Neighbor Awards have recognized Realtors®, members of the National Association of Realtors®, who dedicate countless volunteer hours to help others. Good Neighbor applicants and winners have donated their time and passion to improve and enrich the lives of the people in their communities.

"The Good Neighbor Award represents a thriving culture of giving back, and all of those who have been honored have made a tremendous difference in their communities,” said NAR President William E. Brown. "Every year we see more and more stories of Realtors® making a profound difference in their communities while also balancing a successful career in real estate.”

Many state and local real estate associations have their own version of the Good Neighbor Awards to recognize exceptional Realtors® in their area. Each year, local associations choose their best candidates nominated by clients and colleagues to submit to the national program.

"The Good Neighbor program is a great opportunity for individuals to nominate a Realtor® and recognize them for their dedication to volunteer work. Realtors® understand as well as anyone the importance of helping their community, whether through dedicating their free time to a good cause or helping people reach their dream of homeownership,” said Kim Clark, Association Executive of the Silver City Regional Association of Realtors.

The 2017 finalists and winners have cumulatively raised more than $48 million to make lives better for people in their communities. The 2017 Good Neighbor Award winners are:

Each of the five winners will receive a $10,000 grant for their cause and will be featured in the November/December issue of REALTOR® Magazine. The recipients will be presented with crystal trophies on Saturday, November 4, during the 2017 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Chicago.

"If you're a member of your local Realtor® association and would like to start a Good Neighbor Awards program, or if you are a homeowner or potential buyer and would like to nominate your local Realtor® as a Good Neighbor recipient, visit the REALTOR® Magazine website for more information,” said Clark

The Good Neighbor Awards have been presented annually since 2000 by NAR's REALTOR® Magazine. An incredible $1.1 million in grants have been awarded to the winners' charities since the inaugural award.
