I keep listening to these liberal politicians, pundits, and quite frankly, friends. Most of them are Democrats but there are Republicans among their ranks as well. After listening to another rant by Hillary and then Nancy Pelosi, along with commentary from a pundit on CNN, it struck me once again that liberals don’t ever talk about America in a positive light. It’s always what’s wrong with America or attacking some demographic group for a wrong or perceived advantage.

We hear the story about the school in NC that sent an assignment home with 2nd graders which was designed to “increase awareness of and about white privilege.” The assignment listed a number of job categories, ranging from CEOs, TV/movie producers or executives, owners of professional sports teams, politicians & singers and the corresponding percentage of those positions held by white people. Of course it was always in the 90% area for each of those job categories. The ‘lesson’ to be learned was that white people had an unfair advantage because of their status in society throughout the history of this country. Interestingly the authors/educators ignored the percentage of professional athletes that are minorities and specifically excluded rap artists from their list of signers/entertainers. I wonder why?

Add this to the list of complaints that liberals have about the rich not paying their fair share or that Republicans want to cut spending on certain programs and thus want to kill children or grandma. Don’t forget their mantra of minorities not being able to achieve success themselves without the help of government. Then there are the evil men or the evil Christians that are causing all the problems in society. You know all the accusations liberals make against others.

Immigrants, either illegal or legal, are told they don’t have a chance to make a decent living and can receive around $3600 a month in benefits. All minorities are told they can’t vote because it’s too hard to get a photo ID. The message from the liberals is always negative; it’s always a blame game telling the average person that they can’t succeed because of an unfair playing field or the deck being stacked against them by some privileged demographic group. People tend to believe it despite the evidence to the contrary.

Right now we have the lowest unemployment rate among the black and Hispanic communities in over 40 years. Fewer people are receiving unemployment benefits than in the last 4 decades. More people are back in the workforce than we’ve had since the '80s. Real wages are up over 2% again this quarter. New hires exceeded expectation in February once again. The economy is growing at a 3% rate (remember when Obama said that would never happen again? 2% growth was the new normal)

Trump came in and spoke for the conservative point of view. Get government out of the way and you can succeed. He didn’t guarantee it but the message was positive; it was the message of believing in the average American and their ability to take care of themselves, to create a good life for their families, to get ahead no matter what. That is the biggest difference between liberals and conservatives, the tone of their messages.

Tax cuts have not only spurred the economic growth, along with decreased regulation, but there is more money in the paycheck of the average American worker. Tariffs on aluminum haven’t brought the industry to ruin as predicted by the liberals, in fact aluminum prices have dropped by 4% since the tariffs were implemented. Who knew? Oh, that’s right, we knew what would happen.

History shows us that America is a great place; a beacon of freedom and a land of opportunity. Not a land of guaranteed success but a place where anyone can come and reap the benefits of their efforts. You may not become a millionaire but you can certainly provide a better life for your family. Which message do you want to hear; one of doom and victimization or one of hope and self-reliance? Which one is closer to the truth about America? I know what I believe.
