Of course we must talk about Elizabeth Warren and her recent DNA test. She is bitterly clinging to the idea that she is of Native American heritage, specifically Cherokee. I found it interesting that she decided not to use one of the more popular DNA testing businesses like Ancestry.com or 23 & Me.

Instead she found a professor from some California college who has tenuous ties to DNA testing and analysis of heritage. He gave a very wide range of the possibility that she had Native American ancestors in her lineage, that can be interpreted to be anywhere from 1/64th to 1/1024th of her DNA. In reviewing some of the analysis from both sides of the aisle it looks like the majority of actual genetic scientists would lean towards the upper end of that scale meaning that Warren has less Native American heritage than the average European American.

What we also know now is that the professor doing the analysis and testing of warrants genetic makeup said that there was not enough DNA in the database from Native American tribes to provide a solid analysis of Warren's history so they used DNA from tribes in Peru, Venezuela and Mexico to complete their analysis. As far as I know, the two previously mentioned websites have indicated they have enough DNA history from the various American tribes to do an analysis; that might explain why Warren did not want to use either one of them knowing that she probably did not have much Native American heritage.

The story gets even better. Remember that Warren has said several times that her great-great-great grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford, was the relative that was of Cherokee descent. Turns out that was not true and that she was pretty much all European. What is more interesting is that her great-great-great grandfather was part of the Tennessee militia. The very militia responsible for rounding up the Cherokee and either killing them or incarcerating them in stockades. Those actions were the pre-cursor to the infamous Trail of Tears.

Several points to take away from this story, not the least of which is that the liberals continue to focus on identity politics believing that is more important than what you stand for or the principles that you hold dear. But if Warren, who at the very best estimate is .09 percent Cherokee, can be qualified as a Native American minority for hiring purposes, then the rest of us can as well.

It's also ironic that by continuing to press this point and wanting to prove her heritage, Warren has now also proven that her ancestors killed Native Americans simply because they were Native Americans. And if you look at the actual DNA make up of Elizabeth Warren, she might be one of the whitest people in America which means you liberals have to automatically hate her.
