The local quilters guild presented their 78th “Quilt of Valor” at their June meeting to Robert Sandoval, Veteran who served in the US Army in Vietnam, Status E4, Assignment Logistics. The traditional Red, White and Blue quilt was handcrafted by Master Quilter Claudia Toenies.

Jude Casco, Quilt of Valor Coordinator did the presentation with the following statistics from the National Quilt of Valor organization: Month to date 2017 quilts presented to 890 veterans, 159,291 presented worldwide by the Quilt of Valor Foundation.

The quilt is presented from a beautiful quilted storage bag, but then wrapped around the recipient to show deep appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
