Bullard St.The Town and Country Garden Club and the New Mexico Resiliency Alliance have funded a downtown planter project. Silver City MainStreet requested the funds to help beautify downtown Silver City. Making the downtown area more attractive to residents and visitors is one of the goals of Silver City MainStreet.

Gary Stailey is making the planters with help from the Community Youth Building Program. Fourteen planters have been made so far with eleven more scheduled to go out. Planters are delivered to businesses that have signed up for them and have agreed to water and maintain them.

The Town and Country Garden Club fund community projects, two scholarships, and maintain the rose garden at Memory Lane Cemetery through sales at their thrift store located at 606 N. Bullard St. Currently, they are having a shortage of volunteers and need assistance. If you are interested in helping this community minded organization, stop by the thrift store and sign up to become a member or call Sandy Suhr at 575-388-3306.
