The Appreciation Pin recognizes an individual's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This service, which has had measurable impact on at least one geographic area of service, helps the council reach and surpass its goals for that area. Nancy gives back because of her history with Girl Scouts as a girl and as a Leader while in college. Amelia Ellis's nomination said "She is always encouraging us to concentrate, aim, and use good form, she has no children of her own but takes to time to volunteer and help teach us archery". Rachel Windsor said "Because of Nancy and her patient ways we earned our archery badge by learning the parts of the bow and arrows, how to shoot at different angles and learned range safety."
