They are from troop #54311 from the Cliff Schools. They met March 15 with area Membership Manager Annette Toney, who is helping them on some new badge work. Second and third graders worked on steps towards the Badge My Best Self, 4-5 grade earned steps towards Staying Fit Badge, and 6th grade and up worked on a badge called Eating For Beauty. They also completed a hiking first aid kit that included band aids, cotton balls, alcohol swabs, chap stick, and other items that all fit in a small bag to go in their pocket to help with small wounds. All this is provided by a recent grant from United Way of Southwest New Mexico for a program called "My Best Self" in which girls are learning to better themselves. Wherever girls live, whatever their circumstances, we help them learn to be safe, think for themselves, and lead the way for others. For more information on Girl Scouts call Annette Toney at 538-2481.
