Senior members aged from 13 years old to 18 years old competed last week to earn their spot on a team traveling to the state competition in Raton, NM at the NRA Whittington Center. Members competed in shooting sports contests ranging from air rifle, rifle, shotgun, archery, pistol, and hunting. The top 8 individuals from each contest will form two teams to compete at the State Contest in May. Those top individuals for the Air Rifle contest are Cole Rogers, Seth Neal, Jadaniah Tarpley, Haley Jacquez, Autumn Laws, and Sophia Egge-Ogas. The top individuals for Shotgun contest are Ty Dalton, Cooper Miller, Connor McDaniel, Jacobi Lockett, RJ Orrantia, Chris Morgan, Max Misquez, and Ty Holman. The top individuals for the Pistol contest are Julian Garcia, Bradley Sullivan, Xander O'Loughlin, Seth Neal, and Jeraiah Garcia. The top individuals for the Archery contest are Julian Garcia, Riley Brabson, Bristan Lockett, Jacobi Lockett, Ian Valenzuela, Brye Baptiste, Javi Garcia, and Morgan Bighley. The top individuals for the Hunting contest are Matt Tavizon, Cole Rogers, Samantha Jones, Xander O'Loughlin, Logan Fretz, Javi Garcia, Morgan Bighley, and Cooper Miller. We congratulate all of the members that qualified for state and wish them the best of luck at the State 4-H Shooting Sports Championships.
