Silver City, NM – Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) will be awarding financial scholarships ($500 each) to recipients of its 2018 HMS Scholarship Program.

Dan Otero, HMS Chief Executive Officer, stated, "HMS is very proud of these successful, young adults. It is our hope that they will continue to develop their leadership skills to serve their communities throughout southwest New Mexico, the United States and the world."

Recipients who met and exceeded the eligibility criteria are 2018 high school graduates from Hidalgo and Grant counties who are also enrolled to attend college in the Fall 2018 semester/quarter.

2018 HMS Scholarship Award (Hidalgo County) recipients – each awarded $500:

• Heather Klump - Animas High School
• Brandon Saenz - Lordsburg High School

2018 HMS Scholarship Award (Grant County) recipients – each awarded $500:

• Joseph Davis - Aldo Leopold Charter School
• K'Dayl Looney - Cliff High School
• Mary Thuerauf - Silver High School
