Photo Courtesy of Lori BonomoThe Kiwanis Club of Silver City kicked off the 2018-19 school year by celebrating the September "Kiwanis Terrific Kids" at Sixth Street Elementary School in Silver City. The honored students joined their family members in the cafeteria, to listen to a short presentation about leadership led by Sixth Street School Principal, Bobby Trujillo, and Kiwanis Club of Silver City Member, Lori Bonomo. Each child received an official "Terrific Kid" certificate and a goodie bag filled with Terrific Kid gear. Kiwanis Terrific Kids are recognized by their individual schools for displaying a positive attitude, good character and responsible citizenship. The Kiwanis Club of Silver City sponsors this youth leadership program in 10 schools in Grant County.
