Students and staff will assemble bulk ingredients into bags and prepare them for shipment. The mission effort will not only feed thousands, but will also raise funds to expand the school, which is filled to capacity.

Students, parents and faculty have already raised over $29,000 since the program launched on November 3rd, and they aim to raise at least $50,000 by the event date of December 7th. The launch involved the Calvary Christian Academy school as well as members of the community. At the fundraiser launch attended by over 150 people, academy administrator Dea Gros shared the fundraiser plan, and the school’s youth worship team led attendees in worship.

“We’re excited to have our school help meet needs in our community and internationally,” said Dea Gros, Calvary Christian Academy’s administrator. “The kids will pack these meals and send them off to Haiti and our community. The money we receive beyond the amount needed to cover the meals will go toward portable buildings to expand the school, because our facility is filled to capacity.”

CCA gave her the support she needed to finish well that school year.”

The Feed the Need fundraising campaign operates in a number of ways, including through a text campaign where those who wish to donate or become a fundraiser: text SILVERCCA to 71777.

Calvary Christian Academy impacts the Silver City community by offering children quality Christian education, as well as through volunteer opportunities that their students participate in, such as preparing and serving meals at the Silver City Gospel Mission and doing projects for elderly individuals in the area.
