wnmu ckiThe Kiwanis CKI Club of Western New Mexico University delivered 39 bags of warmth on December 13 to The Kids in Need of Supportive Services, also known as "KISS" in Silver City. The bags included a warm blanket, two pairs of socks, lip balm, and a goodie bag to carry toys and other personal items from house to house. The Kids in Need of Supportive Services program offers children, parents and families in Silver City and surrounding area with therapeutic family services, child and parent groups, court ordered visitations exchanges, individual and family therapy in home and office visits, and services that connect families to community resources. CKI member and WNMU student, Ivan Montoya, created the idea for the project. WNMU CKI, also known as Circle K International is a sponsored leadership partner of the Kiwanis Club of Silver City. CKI the world's largest student-led collegiate service origanization where students gain resume worthy skills, find lifetime friends and do community service that changes lives, including their own.
