img 0033Grant County’s Preceptor Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi recently held a Valentine Tea to honor their Sweetheart, Maria Elena Sanchez. Each year the sorority honors one of their own during their annual Tea, which was held privately for members and their guests. Those in attendance were served several teas, savories, sweets and scones. Great fellowship and conversations were enjoyed by all.

Maria Elena Sanchez is currently the chapter President and recently received the International Award of Distinction from Beta Sigma Phi’s International headquarters for her many years of service to her chapter and the organization. She is married to Richard Sanchez and has two grown daughters; Melissa and Stephanie and a granddaughter Alyzae. She also has 3 step grandchildren. Mrs. Sanchez has been in Beta Sigma Phi since 1972 and holds the Torch Bearer degree. She has been very active locally and at the state level. She has attended other Beta Sigma Phi state conventions with a highlight attending the International Convention that was held at the Beta Sigma Phi headquarters.
