(Courtesy Photo)On Wednesday, March 13, three senior eco-monitoring students from Aldo Leopold Charter School, in Silver City, NM will be traveling to Atlanta, GA to take part in a Climate Reality Leadership Training Corps workshop led by former Vice President, Al Gore. Atlanta, the logistical and spiritual home of the American civil rights movement, inspired the theme of the Atlanta training: climate justice. The students raised money for the trip through the combination of a GoFundMe campaign, wetland restoration work, and direct appeals to local conservation organizations. Following the training, participants return to their own communities and commit to do at least ten climate change awareness events the following year. Many thanks to everyone who generously donated to make this happen!
