Recently the chapter celebrated Founder’s Day with a banquet and awards presentation at Adobe Springs. The evening started out with the members greeting former sister, Billie Behrens and her friend Betty McIndoe who traveled from Santa Fe and Rio Rancho respectfully.    

Special awards were presented to Maria Elena Sanchez, who received the Founder’s Award and Best Program of the Year. The chapter voted by secret ballot on the program they enjoyed the most and Maria Elena had a guest speak, Manny Lucero, who showed the chapter quilts he has made and discussed how he became interested in make quilts and how he taught himself to make them.

Rituals then proceeded with Lillian Galindo receiving her Preceptor pin. A very special ritual was given to Billie Behrens as she has been in Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years. She received her Golden Circle ritual from her former chapter.

The evening concluded with the announcement of the 2019-2020 theme which is “The Power of the Dream”.

Preceptor Tau will finish the year off the middle of May with Installation of Officers and some members plan to attend the State Convention which will be held in June in Socorro, New Mexico.
