dsc00624Raul Turrieta, Grant County Assessor was appointed by President of NMC, Mark Cage, to serve on the Tax & Revenue Policy Committee chaired by Santa Fe County Manager, Katherine Miller. The Tax & Revenue Policy Committee addresses major tax and revenue issues facing county government with particular emphasis placed on possible legislative initiatives; Major issues include GRT reform efforts, ensuring that county revenues are adequate to meet county government needs, and other financial issues affecting county and tribal government, like, taxation, assessment, budgets, audits, capital outlay, procurement, county revenue, distribution, and expenses.

Raul Turrieta continues represents on the Economic Development & Infrastructure Policy Committee and addresses county economic development and infrastructure with particular emphasis on possible legislative and policy initiatives; Major issues include business and workforce development, capital outlay, roads and transportation, broadband, and extraction industries. This priority is identification of resources available to assist in developing and understanding economic development strategies. With his 38 years of experience in the assessment and taxation, he can benefit the C Grant County and the State of New Mexico. He welcomes input to further economic development for his constituents.
