noble park Silver City District 3 Councilor José Ray has been visiting with constituents to learn of their concerns, so when one resident mentioned that the picnic tables at Noble Park on West Market Street were in need of replacement, Councilor Ray contacted the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) District Office, where he was given three tables in need of a little TLC. He took them to the city shop, part of the town Parks Department, where employees (pictured left to right) Roman Madrid, Jesus Alvillar and Joey Figueroa, alongside Ray, gave them new life. The shiny, new tables now grace the park, just in time for warm weather recreation.  The team also filled a low, muddy area of the park with wood chips so children can use the park's "Little Free Library" without slipping in the mud. Councilor Ray credits USFS Silver City District Ranger Elizabeth Toney, USFS Recreation Department employee Brian Martinez, and USDA staff member Alex Torres for their help.
