20230506 162454L-R: Cheryl Howard (MVHAL Board Secretary), Azima Lila Forest, Senator Siah Correa Hemphill, Susan Malter (MVHAL Board Vice President), Michelle Sweetman (MVHAL Board Treasurer).The Mimbres Valley Health Action League (MVHAL)’s participation in Grant County’s Annual Give Grandly fundraising event coordinated by the Grant County Community Foundation Giving Day event was an unmitigated success. MVHAL’s fundraising goal was $5,000, and although the final tally isn’t in yet, we raised $4798.00.

Seventy-four (75) supporters in approximately 14 states provided support for MVHAL’s programs. MVHAL is deeply grateful to all who offered financial and moral support and we offer the sincerest “Thank You” on behalf of the Mimbres Valley residents who will benefit from the generosity of our supporters! 

That generosity means that MVHAL can continue supporting:

With six new board members adding their expertise and energy to MVHAL’s efforts, chances are good that the organization will be developing new initiatives to enhance community life in the Mimbres Valley. 

MVHAL’s mission is to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for the people of the Mimbres Region (defined as the communities that lie along and around NM State Hwy 61 and 35) by supporting local programs that promote healthy food for all, community bonding, and improved access to health care—in particular for our elderly and very young.
