NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT

CITY OF BAYARD

The City of Bayard hereby gives public notice of the intent to adopt amendments to the Uniform Traffic Code:

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE NEW MEXICO UNIFORM TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (NMUTO) BY REFERENCE.

Amendments to the NMUTO are for addition and deletions to the following sections:
12-1-5.1 AUTOCYCLE
12-1-67 SCHOOL BUS
12-6-7.4 OPERATION OF VEHCLE ON APPROACH OF MOVING AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE; OF ONCOMING VEHICLE-YIELD RIGHT OF WAY
12-4-9.2 OPERATION OF OFF-HIGHWAY MOTOR VEHICLES ON STREETS OR HIGHWAYS – PROHIBITED AREAS
12-7-9.9 OEPRATION AND EQUIPMENT – SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
12-10-1.44 SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS ON LAMPS

***This is not authorization to use off highway vehicles within the Bayard City Limits.

Any public comment must be submitted to the City Clerk between September 25, 2017 and October 6, 2017 at City of Bayard, 800 Central Avenue, Bayard, NM 88023.

Consideration of the final ordinance will not take place until at least two weeks (14) days subsequent to the date of this notice, and only at a public meeting called and held in accordance with S10-5-1 et seq. NMSA 1978 comp. Copies of the proposed ordinance may be obtained at the Bayard City Hall.

Consideration is currently scheduled for and will not take place prior to October 10, 2017 for final adoption.
