NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT

CITY OF BAYARD

The City of Bayard hereby gives public notice of the intent to adopt amendments to the Uniform Traffic Code:

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE NEW MEXICO UNIFORM TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (NMUTO) BY REFERENCE.

Amendments to the NMUTO are for the following sections as adopted by the NM State Legislature:

12-5-7 PEDESTRIAN CONTROL SIGNALS
12-8-8 FLASHING SIGNALS
12-5-10 DISPLAY OF UNAUTHORIZED SIGNS, SIGNALS OR MARKINGS
12-6-12.11 REGISTRATION ON USE OF VIDERO IN MOTOR VEHICLES
12-6-12.12 COASTING PROHIBITED
12-6-13.10 ANIMALS ON STREET
12-6-13.11 DRIVING ON MOUNTAIN STREETS
12-6-13.15 LITTERING
12-6-14.2 PEDESTRIANS RIGHT OF WAY IN CROSSWALKS
12-6-14.3 PEDESTRIANS TO USE RIGHT HALF OF CROSSWALK
12-6-14.4 CROSSING AT OTHER THAN CROSSWALKS
12-6-14.5 PEDESTRIANS ON STREETS
12-8-1 EFFECT OF REGULATIONS
12-10-1.1 PROHIBITED ACTS

Any public comment must be submitted to the City Clerk between February 19, 2019 and March 7, 2019 at City of Bayard, 800 Central Avenue, Bayard, NM 88023.

Consideration of the final ordinance will not take place until at least two weeks (14) days subsequent to the date of this notice, and only at a public meeting called and held in accordance with S10-5-1 et seq. NMSA 1978 comp. Copies of the proposed ordinance may be obtained at the Bayard City Hall.

Consideration is currently scheduled for and will not take place prior to March 11, 2019 for final adoption.
