NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT

CITY OF BAYARD

The City of Bayard hereby gives public notice of the intent to adopt changes to Section 12-7-9 through 12-7-9.10 of the Bayard Uniform Traffic Code:

An ordinance amending section 12-7-9 through 12-7-9.10 (off-highway motor vehicles-definitions, et al.) of the New Mexico uniform traffic code adopted as the Bayard Traffic Ordinance in Chapter 38, Section 38-1 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bayard, New Mexico authorizing a local authority to permit by ordinance the operation of recreational off-highway (ROVs) on paved streets and highways owned and controlled by the local authority.

Any public comment must be submitted to the City Clerk between August 12, 2019 and September 4, 2019 at City of Bayard, 800 Central Avenue, Bayard, NM 88023.

Consideration of the final ordinance will not take place until at least two weeks (14) days subsequent to the date of this notice, and only at a public meeting called and held in accordance with S10-5-1 et seq. NMSA 1978 comp. Copies of the proposed ordinance may be obtained at the Bayard City Hall.

Consideration is currently scheduled for and will not take place prior to September 9, 2019 for final adoption.
