The Grant County Lodgers Tax Advisory Board will hold a Regular Quarterly Meeting on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Grant County Administration Center located at 1400 Highway 180 East, Silver City, NM 88061. Unfinished Business – Approval / Disapproval of Ordinance No. 1282: an amending Chapter 22, Article II (smoking in public places) of the Municipal Code of the Town of Silver City, NM. New Business –

Effective July 17, 2019, Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles will be allowed to operate on town streets.  All State highways are prohibited.  Attached is a flyer with information pertaining to the ordinance. Attached is also a map of the areas where Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles are prohibited and allowed.  I am asking the public to please follow all rules and regulations and operate ROV’s in a safe manner.  We will start by having a four week educational period to help educate the public and get everyone into compliance.  After the four week educational period has concluded, enforcement action will begin and there will be zero tolerance.  During the educational period, there will also be zero tolerance on repeat offenders that we attempt to help educate and gain compliance. Flyers and maps will also be posted at several locations to include, Silver City Police Department, MVD Office, Town of Silver City Hall, SCPD Facebook Page and the Town of Silver City website.  If anyone has any questions please contact the Silver City Police Department at 575-538-3723.

The Council of the Town of Hurley will hold a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Hurley Town Hall at 101 Cortez Avenue in Hurley, New Mexico. This meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. A copy of the agenda will be available at the Hurley Town Hall on Friday, August 9, 2019.
