Santa Fe, NM – Today 19 New Mexico House Republican representatives sent a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to promote Albuquerque's bid to host Amazon's new North American headquarters.

In their letter, the representatives cited New Mexico's location, cultural and recreational opportunities, and the presence of two national laboratories as key assets. They also pledged their willingness to work on business-friendly policies, including tax reform, as well as continued support for important state incentive programs such as the Local Economic Development Act and the Job Training Incentive Program.

"New Mexico continues to be a fantastic place to live and work," NM House Republican Leader Nate Gentry said. "Amazon's search for a new headquarters location gives us an opportunity to highlight all of the wonderful reasons why New Mexicans are proud to call this state their home."

Gentry added, "As state leaders, we owe it to New Mexicans to seize any potential prospect that will create jobs and strengthen our economy. House Republicans have been working for years to support policies and programs that make New Mexico competitive with other states in these types of searches. New Mexico's best days are ahead, and hopefully, Amazon will be part of a brighter future for our state."
