ALBUQUERQUE – Nancy Pelosi's tax hike tour comes to New Mexico today, with an appearance in Santa Fe to remind voters that Democrats are committed to rolling back the sweeping tax cut recently passed into law and ending pay raises and bonuses for workers. Pelosi already said at a similar event earlier this week that her party would repeal the tax bill, effectively raising taxes on millions of American families:

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi vowed Wednesday that Democrats will rework the GOP tax bill if they successfully retake the House in the 2018 midterm elections…According to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center, the average household will receive a tax cut of $1,610 in 2018. Only 5 percent of taxpayers will see increased taxes in 2018…'It's not about chipping at this piece or that piece, it's about a comprehensive look at what our tax policy should be for the future,' she added." During the debate over tax reform, Michelle Lujan Grisham was a top Pelosi ally as Democrats vocally opposed Republican attempts to cut taxes so working families could keep more of their hard-earned money. Now that Pelosi has promised that Democrats will raise taxes if given the opportunity, will Lujan Grisham endorse the plan to roll back the tax cut and take more money out of workers paychecks?

"Michelle Lujan Grisham should be honest with voters about whether she wants to end pay raises and bonuses for hard working New Mexicans," said RPNM Chairman Ryan Cangiolosi. "Lujan Grisham stood side by side with Nancy Pelosi to oppose the Republican tax cut. This is a simple yes or no question. Working families deserve to know whether she supports Pelosi's efforts to take more money out of their pockets and out of their paychecks."
