ALBUQUERQUE – Michelle Lujan Grisham has once again proven that she'll say anything to get elected. After her first ever briefing at New Mexico's southern border, Lujan Grisham tried to run away from her long record of refusing to support border security.

"After years of blocking any common sense compromise on immigration reform in Congress, Michelle Lujan Grisham used her first ever border briefing as opportunity to flip-flop for political convenience once again," said RPNM Chairman Ryan Cangiolosi. "Michelle Lujan Grisham says she is now for border security, including a wall at the southern border, just a month after voting against a compromise bill that would have provided border security and a DACA fix in Congress. New Mexico voters know better. Michelle Lujan Grisham is a career politician who lacks leadership, vision and good policy ideas to move our state forward. Sadly, she will say anything to get elected."

When asked about a wall at the border Lujan Grisham responded:

"And if they 'say that this physical barrier is going to help us, I think Congress has to have the resources to do that, and states need to be as supportive as they can.'" (Las Cruces Sun News, Diana Alba-Soular, August 14, 2018)

Yet, just a month ago in Congress, Lujan Grisham voted once again with Nancy Pelosi to block ANY compromise legislation that would have provided funds to secure our border and fix DACA.

And earlier this summer, Lujan Grisham called for National Guard troops assisting with border security to be removed from their posts.
