Lynne Welsch RSLynn Welsch, one of the award winning fiber artists.A Spring Fiber Arts Sale will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Silver City Woman's Club located at 411 Silver Heights Blvd. just in time for Mother's Day. The sale is sponsored by the SW Women's Fiber Arts Collective (SWFAC), a non-profit that provides opportunities for fiber artists in Grant county to earn income.

The Spring Fiber Arts Sale offers something for everyone including a book signing, a drawing for handwoven items, fun fiber art boards that explain different fiber arts, and really fine fiber art in every price range. This sale is a fun event to take your mom for an early Mother's Day outing, or to purchase your mother something really special.

In addition to fabulous fiber art, the Spring Fiber Arts Sale will include a book signing for Local Color - Dye Plants of the Gila, New Mexico Region by Donna Foley and Prairie Small. Prairie Small will be available from 10 am to 11 am to sign copies of the book. A drawing for handwoven fiber art to benefit SWFAC will also be available. Our members have created interesting fiber art boards that explain different fiber arts and have examples of handwoven material.

Best of all is the great fiber art and purchasing at this show supports local fiber artisans. Some of the members selling work have been nationally recognized for their fiber art. Weavings, quilts, felted items, hand dyed silks, knitted items, and fiber art tools will be available to purchase. High quality fiber art in every price range makes this a must see show.

The Southwest Women's Fiber Arts Collective was founded in March, 2005. We are a grassroots, all-volunteer, non-profit 501 c (3) organization with the goal of stimulating and supporting successful cottage industry in the southwest. We have a successful history of providing means to earn income in our remote community. SWFAC holds two sales each year, the Spring Sale and the Holiday Sale held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The SW Women's Fiber Arts Collective's mission is to celebrate fiber art and realize its economic potential. To accomplish this, we nurture and empower both novice and skilled artists and enrich the community by fostering opportunities to experience, learn and earn. Please see our website, www.fiberartscollective.org for more information about our organization and to learn about becoming a member.
