with a special Red Dot Art Show.October is the month to honor art and artists across Silver City and the outlying area artists, too. The Silver City Art Associations's big Red Dot Artfest weekends are October 7, 8 and 9 and October 13, 14 and 15. There is food, fun and fashion planned and, of course art, art and more art. The exciting Red Dot weekends are a favorite of locals and visitors alike!

During the first weekend, October 7, 8, 9, there will be galleries open with special shows, receptions and exhibitions. Music will be in the galleries and on the streets, with fun in the air and tasty snacks everywhere. Add this all together with the spectacular art of Silver City and it is a great way to celebrate and enjoy all that this unique community has to offer. Among the special events will be a paint out for plein air painters, with prizes and sales opportunities. The grand event of the three days is the Art Couture Fashion Show on October 8 in the Seedboat courtyard. This was the biggest event of the 2016 Red Dot Artfest and it is where fashion and art combine in the most exciting way. The Art Couture fashion show was standing-room only last year, so best get your tickets early !

You will want to save the dates of October 13, 14, and 15 and plan to take a tour of the artist studios throughout the town and across outlying area. The Red Dot's Art Fest's Studio Tour Weekend is an opportunity to find studio doors open and artists waiting to welcome you and show you how they create their art. It is your chance to see and talk to some of the finest and most creative artists in the Southwest and get a fascinating look at their working environment. This event happens only once a year!
