steven vanhauwaert rsSteven VanhauwaertOn Friday, November 3rd, the Grant County Community Concert Association will welcome Belgium native and Steinway Artist Steven Vanhauwaert. The concert will be held in the WNMU Fine Arts Theater at 7:00 p.m. Vanhauwaert made his official U.S. solo debut in May of 2011, and the Los Angeles Times hailed his performance for its "impressive clarity, sense of structure and monster technique."

Since then, Vanhauwaert has appeared in solo recitals at some of the world's leading venues such as the National Center for the Performing Arts (Beijing), the Concertgebouw (Brugge), the Shangai Oriental Arts Center, the Grand City Theatre (Shanghai), the Jerusalem Music Center, Segerstrom Hall (Costa Mesa), the Great Hall at the Liszt Conservatory (Budapest), and the Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles. His discography includes a solo album with works by Schumann, Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, and Debussy, two 4hand-discs featuring arrangements of Stravinsky's popular ballets "Petrushka" and the "Le Sacre du Printemps," as well as works by Satie, Ravel, Poulenc and Casella.

Audiences and critics have appreciated Vanhauwaert's personal introductions to the pieces he performs and his riveting and persuasive interpretations of classic works. Concert goers will not want to miss this rare treat.

For non-GCCCA subscribers, tickets to the concert are $20 for adults and $5 for students to age 17 not accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Students coming with an adult ticket holder are admitted free of charge.
