On Friday, December 1, the Silver City Kiwanis will do their annual gazebo lighting in Gough Park and the Kiwanis youth groups will again be competing in a sing-off of favorite Christmas songs. The winners will receive cash prizes that they can use for their club’s activities or service projects.

The gazebo lighting began a few years back with a request from Silver City Mainstreet for the Silver City Kiwanis Club to put some holiday spirit and décor in Gough park by lighting the gazebo during this very special season. Kiwanis is all for and about the children of our community and so it was only natural to involve them in this service project. In the spirit of Christmas and through songs of the season they "light up our life" as we light up the gazebo.

Kiwanis Youth sing Christmas carols

Kiwanis appreciates the support of Ace Hardware, Western Bank, Silver City Radio and First Savings Bank in this project. The festivities begin at 5 pm at Gough Park on December 1. The public is cordially invited to come and join in the Christmas spirit and song.
