faith hibbs clark rsFaith Hibbs-ClarkFilm Casting Director Faith Hibbs-Clark, CSA is returning to Silver City on March 7. In conjunction with Las Cruces Film Festival participation, she is offering a one-evening seminar at Western New Mexico University (WNMU) entitled "Intro to the Film Industry" https://www.facebook.com/events/371665069967124/. In 2016, Ms. Hibbs-Clark conducted a Silver City actors' workshop on successful film auditioning and gave a High School class presentation with the help of local sponsors including WNMU Cultural Affairs, Manzanita Ridge, and the Arts and Cultural District.

The March 7 seminar will be at the WNMU Global Resource Center and is sponsored in part by Western New Mexico University Cultural Affairs and Manzanita Ridge. Participant fee is $50. Participants will receive handouts and resource lists.

Ms. Hibbs-Clark's company, Good Faith Casting LLC, is Southwest-based, at Albuquerque Studios (ABQ Studios) and in Phoenix. Good Faith Casting is reputed for its efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity in casting film and commercials.

This event is suitable for ages 18 to adult. Those who attended her 2016 actor workshop can attest to the caliber and insight Ms. Hibbs-Clarks brings. Her presentations bring cautions about scams as well as information to help move participants forward in the industry.

This event will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Rooms A-C of the WNMU Global Resource Center, 1000 W. College Ave in Silver City. Preregistration is strongly encouraged and can be done at Constant Contact via the Facebook website above, or at https://goo.gl/eLJfrx (direct link to Constant Contact registration).

Casting Directors connect actors to auditions. A Casting Director works for the film's Director, not the actor or agent, finding actors appropriate to the film's roles and bringing their information to Directors for possible auditions. (A Casting Director is NOT a talent agent representing actors.) While many roles are filled through agents, some roles receive wider consideration.

Ms. Hibbs-Clark's value lies not only in film, but also in communications life skills. With an educational background in communications and psychology from Arizona State University, she served for many years as a communications expert, coaching trial attorneys, politicians, federal agents, and CEO's in the finite details of non-verbal communications and vocal delivery skills. With this unique background, her seminars and workshops empower actors with greater control and preparedness, bringing a fresh perspective to the art of casting that doesn't just rely on "happy accidents," but rather carefully engineered outcomes.

Ms. Hibbs-Clark is a member of The Casting Society of America, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and New Mexico Women in Film. For her, casting is more than just contacting agents and putting actors on tape. It is about match-making and discovery. She finds joy in discovering those new faces, whether it be for a "real people" casting or an up-and-coming movie star.
