Hometown Hollywood? For almost twenty years, Silver City was home to the agent for some of stage and screen's biggest names including Steve McQueen, Kirk Douglas, Natalie Wood, Gregory Peck, Paul Anka, Julie London, Dick Clark, Johnny Mathis, Paul Newman, Kenny Rogers, Nancy Sinatra, and many more. David Gershenson is coming back to Silver City as a guest of the Silver Screen Society and David will share some of his fondest and funniest memories of his 60-year career representing some of the entertainment industry's brightest stars. Dr. Joe Shepard will interview Mr. Gershenson on WNMU Light Hall stage. Several film clips will be shown and his experiences shared. The storytelling will begin at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018, followed by a "Dinner with David" at Dr. Shepard's residence at 7:30 p.m.

David started his own PR/marketing firm representing actors, singers, musicians, producers, directors, TV show and commercial production companies. He was the personal manager for Bobby Darin, Burt Reynolds and Terry Bradshaw. David revived Burt Reynolds' career with a unique concept; his centerfold in Play Girl magazine. He also produced plays and movies.

Tickets are available at WNMU's Office of Cultural Affairs and Morning Star. The reminiscing and clips tickets cost $10. The dinner, including appetizers, wine, entrée and dessert, is $60 per person (includes stage interview). Dinner seating is limited. The deadline for dinner reservations is March 15. This special event is sponsored by Western New Mexico University and underwritten by the Rotary Club of Silver City and benefits the Silver Screen Society. (575-537-5988 for information)
