Silver City, NM (April 2, 2018) – The Silver City Arts & Cultural District and Western New Mexico University are pleased to announce a Tourism Town Hall on April 13 in the Global Resources Center building on the WNMU campus. The Town Hall has been organized to give the public an opportunity to hear from the State tourism agency and from local officials and tourism proprietors about trends in tourism in New Mexico and Grant County. The morning will be spent hearing presentations from the State and concluding with two roundtable discussions between panelists and the audience. The Town Hall is open to the public free of charge, with advance registration.

“We are excited to have the Deputy-Secretary Audrey Herrera-Castillo and four of her New Mexico Tourism Department colleagues here for a couple of days to discover all that Silver City and Grant County have to offer,” said Colleen Morton, Executive Director of the Silver City Arts and Cultural District since September 2017.

In addition to the Town Hall, the NMTD team will be taken on a tour of nearby attractions and the town, although the final itinerary will depend largely on the weather.
