Silver City, July 17— Local Foods, Local Places is a 2-day event that brings together local food network stakeholders, local community members, non-profit representatives, public health professionals, business owners, city and county staff, and federal and state agency staff, and hopefully YOU, to participate in facilitated sessions to identify local foods and local place-making initiatives in Silver City.

The community meeting (Wednesday, August 1 from 5-7:30 pm) will include interactive discussions about opportunities to use local food initiatives to strengthen downtown Main Street, foster economic development, and promote better public health outcomes. Dinner will be provided. The second day, action planning sessions (Thursday, August 2 from 9am - 4pm) will highlight case studies, best practices, and focus on creating a community action plan with specific implementation steps.

Participants are welcome to attend both days or any part of either day. There is no charge to participate.
