Visitors at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site Hummingbird Festival July 28 and 29 will have the opportunity to hear three speakers. Saturday, July 28, at 11 AM in the museum, Terry Timme of SW Audubon Society will present "Bird, Butterfly and Bee Friendly".

At 1 PM Saturday, Dr. William Talbot, a bird bander, will present "Hummingbirds of New Mexico." Dr. Talbot is from Albuquerque and has had a lifelong interest in birds. He was busy as a surgeon, but learned banding and has a Master's Permit for banding. He will be banding birds outside the museum from 8 am until it gets too warm - about 10:30 or 11. This is a free event for visitors to watch.

At 11 AM Sunday July 29, Susan Clair will give her talk "Honeybees and Friends". Having trained under top -bar hive expert and author, Les Crowder. She founded the Grant County Beekeepers group in July of 2017. An avid gardener, Susan also serves on the board of directors for The Commons (formerly the Volunteer Center).

All lectures are free of charge. The Mimbres Culture Heritage Site is located between mile markers 3 and 4 just off highway 35 . The Hummingbird Festival will kick off at 8 am both Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th. Vendors, food, fun, the museum, and more are awaiting you this last weekend of July at 12 Sage Drive, Mimbres. Follow the signs. The event is is sponsored by the Imogen F.
