This weekend, Sept. 21 to 23 FBHPS celebrates Fort Bayard Days with events and speakers, a military ball, a military band concert, vintage baseball and interdenominational church service by military chaplains. Movie Schedule: Thursdays, September 20 - All Quiet on the Western Front; September 27 - Wings; October 4- The Dawn Patrol; October 11 - Yankee Doodle Dandy; October 18 - Sergeant York; and October 25 - Flyboys. All at 7 p.m. at the Santa Clara Armory.

Fall colors and the beginning of bird migration make a perfect opportunity to visit Fort Bayard National Historic Landmark.

The Fort Bayard Museum, located in the 1912 Commander's Quarters - Building 26, opens on Saturday, October 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 9:15. Tours begin at 9:30. On Sundays and Mondays, the museum will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations are welcomed to help preserve and restore the historic site.

On Saturday, October 13, the Fort Bayard Historic Preservation Society will honor the Village of Santa Clara's 150th Birthday. Its history is laced with the early history of Fort Bayard and was the first county seat in Grant County.

A Memorial Film Series - "Comrades in Arms, Companions in Death; the Final Years of WWI" will be held on Thursdays, September 20 - November 8 at 7 Pm at the Santa Clard National Guard Armory.

In remembrance of WWI, Susan Heske of Bosque Farms, N. M., will will present "European Battlefields of WWI" at 7 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Santa Clara National Guard Armory on Hiighway 180 near the Santa Clara / Fort Bayard Intersection. Refreshments will be served.
