Another fun Silver City tradition is born!

SILVER CITY, NM, October 2, 2018 - On Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., The Commons: Center for Food Security and Sustainability presents its 2nd Annual Harvest Fest.

Festivities will include: Mesquite Milling (bring your pods, suggested donation $3/gallon); Apple Cider Pressing (bring apples for pressing, or buy some cider already pressed); Seed Library and Seed Gathering Workshop; Children's Activities; Mesquite Pancake Breakfast and Potluck (bring food to share plus your own dishes/utensils); Sing & Make Music (open mic from 11-1); Richard Felger Presentation: Mesquite & "New" Food Crops; Books for Sale: "Eat Mesquite and More"; Lots of Fun For Everyone!!!

“Last year I think we had almost as much fun as the kids did, with the face-painting and the pumpkin-painting, there were smiles for miles! And you haven’t lived until you enjoy sharing in a community potluck, you never know what you’ll get but it’s always delicious,” says a volunteer who helped out at last year’s event.
