October 11, 2018 – Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC), a 68-bed acute care hospital serving Grant County in southwest New Mexico, announced today they will again host a Trunk-or-Treat event this Halloween, October 31, 2018.

Last year was a huge success with many participants coming together to provide a fun and safe place for our community to bring the kids out for a fun night. We estimate that last year’s event was attended by 2000 to 2500 people. This year we are expecting a larger turnout due to the positive responses. We are inviting local businesses to join us in this fun family event.

Here are some details to help you plan:
-The event will be head in the front Parking lot of GRMC on Halloween from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

-Setup will be from 2:00pm until 3:30 PM. For safety, we need all vehicles in place by 3:30, well before children begin to show up.

-Breakdown is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm. Please keep in mind that we will need to have most of the children out of the area before moving vehicles. If the event runs late, the vehicles may not be able to leave right away.

-If you have a situation where you may need to move your vehicle during the event, we need to know ahead of time. We will have a limited number of spaces that have an escape route for emergencies. Fire, Law enforcement, and emergency vehicles will automatically be placed in these spots.

Each participant is responsible for bringing:
-Trunk. It can be a car, truck, tent, pile of hay bales, be creative!

-Decorations. Again, be creative. It is ok to tell everyone who you are, if you have a banner or poster with your name or logo, go ahead and put it up!

-Candy or treats to last the event (expect at least 2000-2500). Homemade foods are not recommended

-People to pass out candy. Costumes are great! Many groups had a theme to their trunk and costumes.

GRMC will provide a space to put your vehicle, tent etc.:
-A standard space will be 1½ parking spaces wide (about 14 feet). If you need more space just let us know ahead of time, we will be happy to make more space for you!

-When you arrive, the event coordinator will direct you to your spot.

-We will not be able to supply electricity.
