The Lighted Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 7 p.m. This wonderful community event is sponsored by Silver City MainStreet, the Town of Silver City, and Hidalgo Medical Services.

“The parade is a twenty-eight year long tradition in Silver and each year we see new organizations entering floats along with annual entries, states Patrick Hoskins, Board President of Silver City MainStreet. This year, we are bringing back the Snow Queen, a popular entry from past parades. We couldn’t find any of the original costume, so this will be a new incarnation of the Snow Queen. We look forward to two entries from Freeport McMoRan as well.”

Awards for the parade will be given immediately after the parade at the Little Toad Creek.

In addition to the parade, there will be a horse drawn wagon to take shoppers around downtown Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24. It is also Shop Small Saturday and Silver City MainStreet will have totes to give away and businesses will be offering special deals. It’s a great weekend to shop locally and have fun with your family and out of town guests.

We have also done a lot of fundraising this year, and with a generous donation from Town and Country Garden Club, we have decorations for all of the street poles downtown. MainStreet is hosting a merchant window decoration contest, so it will be even more fun for children and families to come downtown.”

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit our website, here, to learn more.
