The Hi Lo Silvers (Photo by Mary Alice Murphy)Please join the Hi Lo Silvers at their Holiday Concert and Sing-A-Long in the First Presbyterian Church, 1915 N. Swan Street in Silver City. Concerts happen December 7 at 7:00 p.m. and December 9 at 3 p.m. Singers are directed by Nada Dates and accompanied by Rhonda Gorog on piano and Bill Baldwin on string bass. Admission is free.    

About the Hi Lo Silvers: the Hi Lo Silvers women’s chorus perform on Mother’s Day weekend in May and on the second weekend in December. The HLS perform a Friday evening concert and a Sunday afternoon concert on the same weekend. For the May concerts, the Hi Lo Silvers sing standards, folk tunes, spirituals, and songs from Broadway and films. 

The December concerts includes seasonal favorites followed by an audience sing-along. For many years and continuing today, members of HLS have song patriotic songs at Ft. Bayard in the celebration of Memorial Day in May, Veterans Day in November, and Laying of Wreaths in December. Occasionally, HLS sing for community organizations. Today, HLS include 23 singers. Anyone who would like to join is invited to attend a rehearsal and talk with Director Nada Dates.  

The December, 2018 Holiday Concert includes 8 songs by the HLS followed by audience participation in a sing-a-long of holiday favorites.
