February 16, 2019 is Territorial Charter Day and Silver City MainStreet is promoting three events as part of Territorial Charter Day. They are the Urban Challenge Fun Run, horse drawn wagon, and Love Local.

Love Local is a promotion of Downtown merchants that are offering great deals, drawings, and discounts because they love our local community.  Look for the Love Local posters in the windows of the 37 participating merchants. Silver City MainStreet loves our community and local businesses and invites everyone down to discover the 145 locally owned downtown businesses.

Thanks to a sponsorship from the Town of Silver City, the horse drawn wagon will be back from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. offering free rides up and down Bullard Street. Hop on in front of Home Furniture for family fun!

The Urban Challenge Fun Run is a 5K that winds through downtown. It is a very family friendly event with many families already signed up. Entry fee is 3 cans of food that will be donated to the Grant county and WNMU food pantries. The first 100 registered runners will receive a free race t-shirt! The race starts at 9 am on February 16. To register email Mary@silvercitymainstreet.com or visit here and go to events. Medals will be awarded for each age category.

If you have not been downtown recently, this is a great day to shop local, have fun, learn about our Territorial Charter and discover all the great things going on downtown!

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit our website here to learn more.
