sergeiteleshevphoto8Grant County Community Concert Association will present Sergei Teleshev and Natasha Popova on Tuesday, March 26, at the WNMU Fine Arts Theater at 7:00 p.m.

This duo of accordion and violin promises to be a surprising delight. Sergei was trained at the Academy of Music in Voronezh, Russia. He represented the U.S. at the 7th Roland International V-Accordion Festival in Rome where he received a special prize for the most online votes on the festival’s webcast. In addition to playing and collaborating with many internationally recognized artists of different genres, he composes and arranges, gives online accordion classes and master classes to school children of all ages. Natasha is a world-renowned violinist, singer, actress and dancer. Classically trained at the prestigious Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, she composes and arranges music in multiple styles. Both have won many regional and international competitions. Together they will perform works by Bach, Piazzolla, Tchaikovsky and more. Don’t miss these engaging and entertaining artists.

The duo will offer an Educational Outreach program for grades 1 through 6 on the morning of the scheduled evening concert from 10:30 to 11:30 in the WNMU Fine Arts Theater. It is free of charge to the children, and bus transportation will be paid by GCCCA upon request by the school. For more information, call Karen at 575-538-5862. Tickets for this concert are $20 for adults who are season ticket holders. Children to age 17 who are accompanies by an adult ticket holder are admitted free of charge. WNMU students with a valid student ID are also admitted free of charge. Individual tickets can be purchased online at www.gcccconcerts.org or in Silver City at The Pink Store (Bullard), the MRAC Office (Wells Fargo Bank Bldg.) or in the lobby at the time of the concert.
