mono ap 3 lindaSilver City Community Theatre—SCCT—plans “A Second Night of Monologues,” 5-7 pm, Friday, June 21, at Javalina Coffee House, at the corner of Market and Texas Streets, downtown Silver City. Admission is free; donations are appreciated.

“We had more than 20 people perform monologues in April. It was quite a time and went long!” according to Thomas Leeper, SCCT President. “We want to keep the fun going. This is the third in a series of small events between SCCT’s major productions. We’re planning workshops, and events, and a play in the spring!”

“A monologue is a way to dip your toe into the theater. Just prepare a 6-8 minute monologue and join us on stage,” said SCCT Board Member MaryAnn Marlar. “Come, enjoy the coffee, and the show!”

“Be the community in Community Theater—join SCCT! Individual and family memberships receive tickets and admission to opening night parties and workshops. Additionally, sponsorships are recognized in programs and other publications,” according to Marlar.

A home-grown theater company, SCCT grew out of a series of acting classes presented by The Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL). Several class members joined forces to create the Silver City Community Theater. Now after 5 years and many productions, SCCT’s mission continues: to enrich, educate and entertain the Silver City and Grant County communities by providing a broad range of live theater experiences on a recurring, seasonal basis.

SCCT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
