20180115 mark yule 250wTaos NM ‐ December 30, 2017 ‐ Mark Yule, of Taos, has announced his candidacy for the job of Lieutenant Governor in 2018. Yule is a proud life‐long Republican, raised in a fourth generation farming family, where both his parents were successful business owners. Yule received his Bachelor's Degree in Geology from the University of California Santa Barbara and worked for the United States Department of the Interior on the Outer Continental Shelf.

Yule moved to Taos in 1981 and became the area's first mail carrier. During this time, he became Union Steward and worked 18 years as a facilitator and an advocate for his fellow union members. Yule is passionate about protecting and maintaining New Mexico's permanent funds and plans to reduce burdensome regulations to increase government efficiency and flexibility, while maintaining a level playing field for everyone in New Mexico. Yule has been credited with being an excellent facilitator with excellent communication and people skills, and he's anxious to bring those skills to the Round House.

"I understand the oil and gas industry and its impact on our state's economy. I understand that all New Mexicans want to feel safe and secure in their neighborhoods, and I appreciate the value of our state's diverse economy, whether it's farming, tourism, technology or public service." Yule is fiscally conservative and brings common sense solutions to the job of Lieutenant Governor to make state government more effective.
