The upcoming election for Grant County Commissioner of District 2 isn’t simply about two people running against each other. It’s really about providing the necessary leadership to make knowledgeable decisions regarding critical matters that will highlight our County’s future. The election is about preservation… preserving a way of life in Grant County that has taken over a hundred years to develop.

Preserving jobs that help us feed our families. Preserving the land on which we raise cattle and grow agricultural products. And yes, this election is even about changes. Changes that if developed properly can have a positive lasting effect for coming generations of Grant County citizens. Changes that can mean the difference between financial prosperity for our County or financial ruin for some of the services we simply take for granted.

My name is Ty Bays. I have lived in Grant County almost my entire life. My family roots grow deep in Grant County. Our family has been in the construction business. We have worked in the mines. We have owned and operated a ranch in Grant County for almost fifty years. And I have worked in the banking industry.

Experience has taught me the importance to achieve goals that have been set. That same work experience has also helped me understand that for my employer to be successful, I must be successful, and I should help those around me be successful. Life has taught me that it isn’t always easy… there is value in hard work, there is accountability for mistakes, and bad decisions are usually followed by negative ramifications.

I am asking for your vote because I believe I can help ensure our County budget has the money and resources needed to protect our citizens safety, maintain and even upgrade our County’s infrastructure, and continue to provide proper health and medical care to our citizens. I have always been a tireless worker, and now I want to work for you.
