connie holguinConnie Holguin, Grant County Chief Deputy Clerk, a Democrat, has announced her candidacy for the office of Grant County Clerk. Experience and innovation are components of her candidacy as she continues to work towards improving to make the office of the County Clerk constituent-friendly and an elections leader in the State of New Mexico.

I have worked in public service for nearly 25 years in the County Clerk’s Office. I have had the opportunity to work under many outstanding clerks and have enjoyed learning from each one. I feel I am qualified for the position with my experience of working in the office with elections, recording, and administration background. I feel that with the knowledge and experience that I have gained in the clerk’s office and having first-hand experience on rapid changes to the election process New Mexico has seen over the past years.

I was hired in 1999 to the Clerks’ Office, as the 4th deputy clerk and I am now the Chief Deputy Clerk under the current Clerk Marisa Castrillo.

As County Clerk, I will focus on continuing to improve the overall office. Customer Service is a priority to ensure our visitors who enter our doors have a pleasant and helpful experience. In addition, the Clerk’s office will continue to promote voter engagement and education, improve website and deed searches, and provide a more efficient constituent experience.

I was born and raised in Grant County. My parents are Raymond and Charlotte Holguin. I have 3 siblings, Pat, Reymundo and Dana Holguin. I have a daughter Elyaah Holguin-Cordova and 3 nephews Skyler, Ryatt, and D’Luca.
