Local youngsters, and some adults, enjoyed an afternoon of CLAYPlay at the Bayard Library Wednesday afternoon. Kathryn Allen, from the CLAY Festival, said that they were creating their pieces with inspiration from the book, “The Moon Was at a Fiesta,” and were making masks based upon the pictures in the book. Some of them, however, decided to make other items from the book, including trays with clay produce, and even flowers.
The youngsters’ work will be fired and displayed at the Bayard Library, and each participant got to take home a copy of the book.
