Deming, NM/Luna County

Yesterday, July 31, 2017 around 6:21 p.m. New Mexico State Police Officers responded to a crash on I-10 eastbound near mile post 85 involving a commercial motor vehicle and a 2005 Toyota pick-up.

Information at the scene indicates that Mrs. Latrisha Laney (39) of Deming NM was merging onto the I-10 east bound lanes of travel when her vehicle came into contact with a commercial motor vehicle, and they became entwined together eventually leaving the roadway and coming to rest in the median. Ms. Laney was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the the scene.

This crash is still under investigation with no further information available at this time.
