On Saturday, Aug. 12, at about 10:54 a.m., Grant County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Silver City Police Department to meet with and follow a reporting party to 405 Mobile Drive.

According to an incident report, the reporting party advised he had not been able to contact the Mobile Drive resident by phone for the last month or so, and when he came to check on his friend he noticed a harsh odor coming from inside the house.

When deputies entered the home, the report said, they found Floyd Earle Traynor, 72, of the location, deceased on the bathroom floor next to a deceased dog.

The body has been transported to the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for autopsy and according to an official source, the cause of death has not been determined but foul play is not suspected.
